Heart disease, diabetes and chocolates?

Apparently some research is being done in the UK to see if eating chocolates can reduce the risks of diabetic postmenopausal women developing heart disease. These lucky women get to eat one bar of chocolate every day for a year. They can come and take me, I’d go willingly.
Cocoa, from which chocolate is made, is high in substances known as flavonoids which are thought to be beneficial to the heart. Soy is also high in flavonoids. It is important for the researchers to find out if there’s a link because post-menopausal women who have diabetes are 3 times more likely to develop heart disease than those who are not diabetic. This would help to augment the actions of prescription medication.
Well, for one thing, our ladies will have to do a little bit more exercise or compensate in other ways for those extra calories!!

Thanks for such an informative post about heart disease and symptoms of heart attack.
I need this info because my friends father had a minor attack. Now he is perfect but needed info to stop this again.
Thanks for such an important post and for time to write it.

Well, for me the bit of sacrifice to exercise more will be well worth the pleasure of a few squares of chocolate! Who can live without the good stuff. We simply must have chocolate. Just opt for the darkest you can find to get the most in terms of benefits.
